Tornado Cocktails All Round at the Reopening of Days Inn Hotel, Haverhill

Wednesday, 2nd May 2007.

On Monday 30th April the Days Inn Hotel, Haverhill opened its doors to guests and local people who were invited to celebrate its re-opening, exactly three months after a freak tornado ripped through Haverhill, taking the roof off the newly opened premises.

Over 100 people were invited to the party, including special guests from the Haverhill Fire Service who rushed to the rescue when the tornado struck.

Donna Revell, General Manager of the 80-bedroom hotel, served partygoers with a glass of Tornado Cocktail, a delightful mix of Malibu, Archers, Vodka and Cranberry Juice.

Speaking on the reopening Donna said: “We were all so shocked when we were hit by the tornado only five hours after opening! Tonight is a great way to thank all the people, especially the firemen, that came to our rescue and what better way to do so than with a Tornado Cocktail!”

Nic Rumsey, of Carisbrooke, the developer of the Haverhill Business Park, said: “We are very pleased that the hotel has re-opened for business. It will be an integral part of the Business Park and local businesses that are setting up in the area.

Rumsey continued: “We know that lightening never strikes twice ..let's hope it's the same for tornadoes.”

The 80 room Days Inn provides superior accommodation for the budget sector with luxury Hypnos beds, walk in power showers, flat screen televisions and the latest in communication technology with WiFi broadband internet access throughout the hotel. There is also a fully licensed bar and two meeting rooms. All public areas are air-conditioned.

The Days Inn is located in the Haverhill Business Park at the junction of the A1017 southern by-pass and Bumpstead Road.
