Travelling Minister's New Post

Thursday, 9th October 2003.

New Methodist Minister, Graeme Hall, has travelled from the Lake District to take over at Haverhill and Weston Colville churches.

Rev Hall, 63, replaces the Rev Charles Crane, who spent the past three years at Haverhill and has now retired to Dorset.

Rev Hall has come from Sedbergh in Cumbria, where he was responsible for the main church, as well as seven little chapels spread around the district and involving quite a lot of travelling. He moved to Haverhill with wife Sue in August and says they are settling in well.

"It has been very good so far, we have been made to feel very welcome," he said.

"Haverhill is obviously a growing town with a lot of people coming in and a lot of expansion. It was only a little place where we were before which only had about 2,500 people in it, and was very different. It is a good church here and I hope to continue the good work which has been done. We are looking forward to getting to know more people and discovering some of the villages of Suffolk," Rev Hall added.
