Tributes Galore in Haverhill

Monday, 6th August 2007.

One of the most eagerly anticipated events of the Haverhill entertainment calendar takes place on Saturday 11 August at 8.00pm on Haverhill Market Square.

THE GREAT BIG TRIBUTE NIGHT features the music of three of the biggest acts in pop / rock music, namely Elton John, Abba and Queen.

The Kings of Queen are widely recognised as one of the UK’s top Queen Tribute bands playing a live set featuring all their greatest hits from 'We are the Champions' to 'Radio GaGa' to the unforgettable 'Bohemian Rhapsody'. They set out to "Recreate the Magic" of a live Queen performance in a show that is full of power passion and energy, great vocals and superb musicianship.

Dave Kinghorn will be backed by a live band as he sings some of Elton John’s best known songs including 'Crocodile Rock', 'Candle in the Wind' and 'Rocket Man'.

In between the two bands, the ABBA MAX Girls will be bringing out the 'Dancing Queens' and sending out an 'SOS' to 'Supertroupers' to 'Thank You for the Music'.

The second evening, GREAT BIG TRIBUTE NIGHT TOO is on Saturday 25 August at 8.00pm. Take This will be paying tribute to the ‘biggest band in the UK today’, the legendary Take That and The Bootleg Blues Brothers on stage.

Nick Keeble, Arts & Leisure Manager with Haverhill Town Council said: ‘The Saturday evenings on the Market Square have been very popular over a number of years. This year we are promoting two nights with some of the best tribute bands around with music from the !960’s all the way through to today. We want to encourage families to come out together and have a fun time together.”

The evenings are sponsored by Haverhill Town Council as part of the Summer in Haverhill 2007 and are free to attend.
