Two In Court For Gang Robberies

Monday, 7th July 2003.

TWO people have appeared in court accused of being members of a car gang which carried out a series of robberies in and around Cambridge last Wednesday.

Six women were attacked in Linton, Fulbourn and Cambridge during the 90-minute crime spree by a group of young men driving a red car.

Alexander Logan, 19, of Dunster Drive, Haverhill and a 17-year-old youth also from Haverhill, appeared at Cambridge Magistrates' Court on Saturday.

Both were charged with four counts of attempted robbery, one of robbery, with committing grievous bodily harm with intent, going equipped for theft and with making off without payment.

In addition Logan was charged with driving without a licence or insurance.

Magistrates remanded them in custody to reappear at Cambridge Crown Court on Friday.

A 12-year-old boy from Haverhill was also arrested in connection with the robberies, but was released with no further action.
