Warning after spate of thefts from vehicles

Tuesday, 22nd December 2009.

Police are warning people not to leave valuable items, particularly tools, in vehicles, after a spate of thefts in Haverhill over the last couple of weeks.

In Raine Avenue overnight on December 12-13 thieves broke into a white Peugeot Boxer van by forcing a door and stole two sat navs and power tools.

In Lavender Field between 6.30pm on December 11 and 9.25am on Decembwer 13 thieves broke into a white Mercedes Sprinter van by forcing a door and stole tools.

In Withersfield Road between 8am and 10am on December 14, Fiat Scudo van was broken into by damaging a lock and tools were stolen.

In Ash Grove between 10am and 2pm on December 14 thieves broke into a Peugeot Expert van by damaging the lock and stole power tools.

In Wellington Terrace between 9pm December 15 and midnight on December 16, thieves broke into a Vauxhall Astra by smashing a window and stole a stereo fascia before pouring flour inside the car.

Again in Withersfield Road between 10.30pm on December 15 and 1am next morning thieves got into to a black Ford Focus on a driveway by unknown means and stole CDs, paperwork, jewellery, clothing, a DVD and a golf club.

A red Vauxhall Astra was stolen from Falcon Close between 10.30pm on December 14 and 7.30am next day and was later found burnt out on the old railway line near Dove House Road.
