Witnesses sought after thief smashes car windows

Monday, 4th November 2013.

Police in Haverhill are appealing for witnesses after two cars had windows smashed earlier this week.

The first incident occurred between 7.30pm on Sunday, October 27, and 6.30am thye following day in Cambridge Way. A blue Vauxhall Tigra parked in the street had a side window smashed and a handbag was stolen from inside.

The second crime took place between 2pm on Monday, October 28 and 8am next morning in Chauntry Road. A lump of concrete was thrown through a side window of a grey Vauxhall Astra parked in the street and the glovebox was then searched, but no items were stolen.

Anyone with information about these incidents is asked to contact PC Rupert Beynon at Haverhill Police Station on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

* Police are alsdo appealing for information after a motorbike was stolen in Haverhill. It happened between 6pm on Wednesday and 6.45am next day in Bures Court.

The motorbike, a black Yamaha FJ11, had been left parked securely in a bay opposite the Leiston Community Centre, from where it was removed.

Anyone with information about this theft is asked to contact PC Rupert Beynon at Haverhill Police Station on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
