Woman rescued from footbridge

Part of Wratting Road in Haverhill was closed on Wednesday evening after emergency services were called to rescue a distressed woman from the footbridge.
Police closed off the road between the new Tesco roundabout and the Millfields Way junction while the fire service reached the woman by using a rescue tower and lowered her to safety and a waiting ambulance.
The road was open again by 10.35pm.
