Your chance to have a say (again) on pedestrianisation

Friday, 16th August 2013.

The promised consultation process about whether or not to pedestrianise Haverhill High Street is under way, working towards a crucial meeting next month.

Suffolk County Council’s then transport supremo Cllr Guy MacGregor promised such a process at a public meeting back in March.

In between there have been elections and Cllr MacGregor’s post has been re-assigned to Cllr Graham Newman, but the consultation is to go ahead.

The main element will be a session involving all the major stakeholders, who will be admitted by invitation, but the general public is being consulted on-line beforehand so the results can be fed into the main meeting.

A questionnaire consultation document is now accessible and the deadline for completing it is September 6.

The results of the consultation will form a public display in the town on September 13, two days after the main meeting.

There are questions about parking, public transport, walking and cycling, and access for the disabled.

The questionnaire can be found at: http://edit.suffolk.gov.uk/your-council/decision-making/consultations/haverhill-town-centre-transport-survey/?stage=Live
