Your chance to have a say on high-profile site

Wednesday, 30th June 2010.

Local people are being consulted on development plans for one of the most high-profile sites in Haverhill.

An area of land at Hanchet End, on the west side of the town, has been earmarked for employment development in St Edmundsbury’s Local Plan.

The 30-acre site lies in the angle between the bypass and the road into Haverhill at the Gateway roundabout where the Spirit of Enterprise artwork stands.

St Edmundsbury Borough Council has now created a concept statement for the site, which will eventually be used by developers or landowners to draw up a masterplan which will shape the project.

St Edmundsbury is now asking for people’s views on the concept statement before it is discussed by councillors.

The consultation runs until July 30 with a special drop-in event to be held from 3.30pm to 7pm on Wednesday, July 7, at the council's offices in Lower Downs Slade.

The full concept statement is available at St Edmundsbury’s offices in Lower Downs Slade or at www.stedmundsbury.gov.uk.

Anyone who would like to make a comment can fill in a form downloaded from the website and email it to LDF@stedsbc.gov.uk or can write to Planning and Economic Services, St Edmundsbury Borough Council, West Suffolk House, Western Way, Bury St Edmunds, IP33 3YU.
