Your chance to raise local issues with the police

Wednesday, 9th June 2010.

The monthly public meeting of Haverhill's Safer Neighbourhood Team takes place tomorrow afternoon (Thursday) at 2pm at the town's newly-refurbished fire station.

Police are keen that members of the public should attend and bring to their notice any issues which may be concerning them in their areas.

Monthly priorities are set based on the issues that are brought to the meetings, usually three issues per month, although this month there have just been two.

These were consumption of alcohol and subsequent anti-social behaviour along the railway footpath between Waters Edge, Withersfield Road, and the Aeroplane Park near Girton Road; and anti-social behaviour, both within and in the immediate area of the children's play area near Alderton Road.

Police and any other agencies who may be involved then focus special attention on the problem until it is cleared up.

A series of partnership agencies including St Edmundsbury Borough Council, Haverhill Town Council and Havebury Housing Partnership are represented at the meetings along with the police.
