Your chance to spot-check hospitals and care homes

Tuesday, 11th September 2012.

Suffolk LINK, a network of local people and organisations that work together to help improve health and social care in Suffolk, wants to know what people think about these services so that we can work with them to make them better.

Suffolk LINK's main duty is to find out what people think and feel about local health and social care services.

Where necessary they then work with the responsible people to improve the service provided. They want to hear both positive and negative comments.

Suffolk LINK has powers by law, one of which is to carry out 'Enter and View' visits to see the standard and quality of the services being provided in care/nursing homes and hospitals.

They send reports and comments to the appropriate bodies for their consideration and action.

If you have an interest in this area or have worked in the health service before you can volunteer to help do this.

Suffolk LINK wants people who are enthusiastic and want to make a difference in this area. They would have to commit to at least two visits per year.

The next training session is on October 4 in Stowmarket. If you are interested and would like to help, ring 01449 771246 or e-mail tammy.ward@shaw-trust.org.uk for more details.
