Youth assaulted by men with dog

Thursday, 4th February 2010.

Police are appealing for information after a youth was assaulted on a footpath near Quendon Place in Haverhill on Tuesday evening.

The 17-year-old was with a group of friends near the Aeroplane Park when they were approached by two men with a black Staffordshire terrier.

The dog ran at the group and the females in the group ran away. The men then approached the remaining two male teenagers and one of the men assaulted the 17-year-old.

Both men then walked off, one towards the astro pitches via the old railway line, the other towards Manor Road.

The teenager suffered facial injuries. The man with the dog is described as white, between 19 and 21, 5ft 8in tall and was wearing a black or grey hooded top and grey jogging bottoms.

The second man is described as white, in his 30s or 40s, 5ft 10in tall, with a shaved head and was wearing a black hooded top and blue jeans.

Anyone with information should call PC Colin Cox at Haverhill Police on 01284 774100 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
