Director Takes A Closer Look

Thursday, 18th May 2006.

Some of the latest developments to boost the lives of children and young people in Haverhill were shown to the person in charge of providing them.

Rosalind Turner, director for children and young peoples's services in Suffolk, toured a number of facilities within the Haverhill community cluster. She met parents, staff, children and health care staff at the Cartwheels Children's Centre on the Clements estate, then stopped off just down the road where the Wednesdays for Women group meets at the Leiston Community Centre.

She then went on to Castle Manor Business and Enterprise College meeting staff, students and outside agencies, who will be supporting the re-development of a student services area into a multi-agency facility accessible to all students.
She also met students for Parkway and Castle Hill middle schools.

She visited Wesfield County Primary School, meeting with staff, students and parents, before lunching at Samuel Ward Arts and Technology College with Haverhill headteachers, county councillors, police, Arts Centre staff and students.
