French flavour for this year's panto

Friday, 15th January 2010.

Haverhill's Centre Stage Company present their annual pantomime over the next couple of weeks at Haverhill Arts Centre.

There are nine performances of The Hunchback of Notre Dame, starting next weekend.

The panto is described as a dramatic story with all the usual panto characters, songs, dances, comedy and audience participation.

The story is set in Paris, which is a cue for some Allo Allo-style jokes, and features the unfortunate hunchback Quasimodo, who proves you don't have to be handsome to find love.

The dame will be played again by Haverhill Town Council arts and leisure manager Nick Keeble and providing the music as usual will be Centre Stage's much-loved regular panto band led by keyboard wizard Nigel Brown.

The show runs from Friday to Sunday, January 22-24, and Thursday to Saturday, January 28-30, with performances at 2pm and 6pm the first Saturday and Sunday, and 2.30pm and 7.30pm the final Saturday. Other shows are at 7.30pm, and, although a couple of shows are sold out there are tickets available for the others at the Arts Centre box office on 01440 714140. Prices are £7.50 or £8.50 with concessions available.
