Groundbreaking Dance Show at Haverhill Arts Centre

Wednesday, 7th February 2007.

This Saturday 3rd March the world-class dance show Digit01 is coming to Haverhill Arts Centre. Internationally renowned dancers will perform in an Alice in Wonderland inspired production - choreographed by the Royal Ballet's Wayne McGregor - featuring computer animation and digital imagery.

Lewis Carroll’s Alice Through the Looking Glass inspired Digit01, with its focus on the concepts of the Internet. For Alice, once she enters through the looking glass, normal time and space are distorted and disrupted just as they are in the Internet. With the Internet normal rules do not apply, you can cut across time and space to communicate with people on the other side of the world in seconds, you can answer any question you can imagine in minutes and you can even walk through imaginary worlds and adopt another identity.

Digit01 creates a magical world through a fantastical dance journey to a place where nothing is as it seems, where time is altered and space is transformed.

Random Dance is a dance company. The Artistic Director Wayne McGregor formed the company in 1992. Based in London, Random Dance travels around the UK and the world performing. The company’s work focuses on dance and new technology and in the performances dance is joined by such technology as animation, digital film, lighting and electronic music.

Join Digit01 and travel through bizarre techno-lands, meeting an array of strange digital characters and virtual personalities. This enchanting adventure, organised by Dance East, is suitable for adults and children aged 7+.

Tickets cost just £5 for adults, £3 for children, and £13 for a family ticket.

Contact 01473 295900 or Haverhill Arts Centre box office 01440 714140.

Showing Haverhill Arts Centre Saturday 3rd March at 7pm.
