Half-term opportunity for all young computer game fans

Tuesday, 11th February 2014.

Haverhill's first ever Games Jam event takes place at the Arts Centre over two days during the half-term holiday - February 17 and 18 from 11-6pm.

The Games Jam is a free event for eight to 18-year-olds and offers a great opportunity to find out how computer games are made.

There will be a number of insiders from the gaming industry on hand to answer questions and the Centre for Computing History from Cambridge will be offering the chance to play with some over-sized pixels in their Retro Gaming Arcade.

Castle Manor Business and Enterprise College have put forward a number of teams from their
games design department to take up the challenge of building a game in two days.

The winning team will have the chance to spend time developing their game with Steven Huckle of Shark Infested Custard in his Games Design Studio.

If you fancy having a go at beating the day’s high score then you can enter one or two players into the games tournament (Xbox / PS3 - FIFA and Forza).

As well as play-offs on the big screen at the
end of both days there will be some great game related prizes up for grabs.

For more information or to register your attendance go to www.hubgamesjam.co.uk or call
the Arts Centre Box Office on 01440 714140.
