Haverhill Show 2006

Wednesday, 5th July 2006.

Fulfilling the promise of previous years, last weekend's Haverhill Show proved to be another resounding success.

Scores of visitors enjoyed a fun packed programme of events designed to appeal to all age groups. Attractions included a fun fair, a baby show, face painting, a climbing tower, a ‘rodeo bull’, a speed test, Punch & Judy and the ever-popular dog show. Trade stands and side shows added further interest.

Sweltering sunshine and high temperatures encouraged a Mediterranean atmosphere and the Recreation Ground in Camps Road buzzed with activity and the sound of laughter throughout Sunday afternoon. Refreshments were in great demand.

A key highlight of the show was the series of dance performances presented by Colette’s School of Dance, Dell’s Dance School and the Lisa Mason School of Dance. Onlookers were impressed with the quality and sheer enthusiasm of the participants, who received rapturous applause to the delight of many proud parents.

The Haverhill and District Motorcycle Club’s exhibition was another crowd puller generating interest and excitement from young and old.

Essentially a family event, The Haverhill Show has grown from strength to strength over a period of twenty-five years. It has acquired an excellent reputation for drawing together the generations and for its focus on fun in the community.

The Haverhill Show receives no direct sponsorship and has no paid members of staff. It is organised by a group of volunteers and depends on the sponsorship of local companies.
