Mole, Toad and Ratty to visit East Town Park

Thursday, 28th July 2011.

Haverhill Town Council and Cambridge Touring Theatre present another fun family show at East Town Park Haverhill on Sunday, August 7.

This year it is the all-time favourite, The Wind In The Willows. Past performances by Cambridge Touring Theatre have been celebrated for fast and funny productions such as Alice in Wonderland, Robin Hood and The Sword in the Stone and each has been a resounding success.

So the town council, which promotes the event, is urging you to shake the earwigs out of your picnic basket and book your tickets to see Ratty, Mole and Toad messing about on the river by calling Haverhill Arts Centre box office on 01440 714140.

The show starts at 5pm and tickets are £8 and £6 with family tickets £24.

Cambridge Touring Theatre is also running a pre-performance workshop. Children aged between 5-11 can join the actors for some fun involving acting and music at 3.30pm. Tickets are £2.50.

The Wind In The Willows has toured around the country and received rave reviews everywhere it goes. The Stage newspaper says: "With a cast so full of energy, verve, vigour and enthusiasm, it is naturally the very young audience members who benefit most from the events set along the riverbank, within the Wild Wood and, of course, in Toad Hall.

"Their parents are not entirely ignored, and are encouraged to fulfil their roles of cat-calling every turn. In short, the whole performance is a laughter-filled treat from start to finish, and all those involved deserve very deep bows indeed."
