Panto so popular an extra show is being put on

Monday, 28th November 2011.

Because of exceptional demand Haverhill Arts Centre has scheduled an extra performance of its pantomime this year.

Performances have either sold out or are very close to selling out, so an extras performance of Aladdin is now scheduled for Saturday, December 17, at 11am.

The producers have so many stunts and special effects as part of the show that they have provided the venue with written assurances and risk assessments of the danger involved.

“Michael Jordan, who recently appeared on ITV`s Penn & Teller plans to use several dangerous illusions including a mangle, juggling knives and a seven-foot high unicycle, not to mention the flying carpet,” explained the show's director, Chris Gidney.

Arts Centre manager, Nick Keeble said: “While any danger is taken very seriously by producers and management, these experienced professional performers know exactly what they are doing and it promises to be a very exciting pantomime which will appeal across the age ranges."

“Despite the on stage danger, the audience is not at risk of anything except falling off their seats with fun and laughter,” said Chris. “And we still plan to throw the traditional sweets into the audience, albeit soft ones!”
