Show sells out so fast another one is put on

Wednesday, 3rd November 2010.

The phrase ‘by popular demand’ is often used by theatres to justify bringing back an artist or putting on an additional show and this is certainly the case at Haverhill Arts Centre this Christmas.

Haverhill Town Council has been promoting a Christmas Show for senior citizens for many years and it has always proved popular.

But this year the show, Remember When At Christmas, on Tuesday, December 14, sold more than 200 tickets in two weeks and the town council has moved swiftly to put on a second show.

The additional show will be on Monday, December 13, at 2pm and tickets are now on sale at the arts entre box Office.

Box office manager Mary Argent said: “Demand for tickets for this show has been unprecendented. We already have customers for 50 tickets for the second show.

"This is always a lovely occasion where Arts Centre staff serve refreshments to the hundreds of senior Citizens who support town council events and Arts Centre shows throughout the year."

Remember When At Christmas is described as a show full of ‘magical musical memories from the 1940s to the 1970s’ and features a mixture of music, memories, nostalgia and good old festive fun.

Songs made famous by Doris Day, Bing Crosby, Vera Lynn, Frank Sinatra, Julie Andrews and many more will have the audience singing along.

Tickets are just £5 (including festive refreshments) and are available from Haverhill Arts Centre box office on 01440 714140.
